Kimyasal maddelerin güvenli kullanımı ile ilgili toplumda genel bilgi eksikliği olması, özellikle çocukları kimyasal maddeler konusunda bilinçlendirmenin gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktadır. Bu amaçla Avrupa Birliği Yaşam boyu Öğrenme Programı Leonardo da Vinci (LdV) Ortaklık Projeleri kapsamında “?ç ve dış ortam kimyasal maddelerin zararları konusunda çocukların farkındalıklarını arttırmak” adlı bir proje hazırlanmıştır. Proje için üç ülkedeki (Türkiye, Polonya, ?sveç) sekiz kurumdan oluşan disiplinler arası bir ekip oluşturulmuştur. Hazırlanacak eğitim materyalinin temel kavramlar, evimizdeki ilaçlar, ev içi temizlik ürünleri, pestis . . .itler, plastikler, çevresel sigara dumanı ve karbonmonoksit başlıklarını içermesi planlanmış ve DVD ile öğretmenlere yönelik bir el kitabı hazırlanmıştır. Çalışmada ilköğretim 4. ve 5. sınıfa devam eden yaşları yaklaşık 10-12 arasında olan çocuklardan oluşan iki deney ve iki kontrol grubu yer almıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, ele alınan kimyasallar ve bunların kullanımına ilişkin, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kontrol grubundaki öğrencilere göre son testte daha fazla doğru yanıt verdikleri elde edilmiştir. Etkileşimli bir süreçte kullanılacak bu öğretim materyalinin Fen ve Teknoloji dersi öğretim programlarındaki boşluğu doldurması ve çocukların daha bilinçli bireyler olarak gelişmelerine katkıda bulunması beklenmektedir. There is a need for raising the awareness of safe usage of chemicals in children due to the lack of information on this issue. For this purpose a project was developed titled as of “Raising awareness of children about harmful effects of indoor and outdoor chemicals” in the frame of European Union Lifelong Learning program Leonardo da Vinci (LDV) Partnership Projects. For this project, an interdisciplinary team was formed from eight institutions in three countries (Turkey, Poland and Sweden). The titles of the education material were composed of basic concepts, medicines at home, household cleaners, pesticides, plastics, environmental tobacco smoke and carbonmonoxide. A DVD and teachers’ manual were prepared including these subjects. The present study present information provided by the post test with both two experimental and two control groups after demonstration of the educational material (DVD) to 4th and 5th grade students aged between nearly 10 and 12. Results of the post test showed that students in the experimental group gave more correct answers than controls. Türkçe dersinde kazanılan okuma becerisi diğer derslerinde başarısını etkileyen bir faktör olduğundan Türkçe ders kitaplarının uluslararası ölçütler doğrultusunda yapılandırılması gerekir. Bu çalışmada, ilköğretim ikinci kademe Türkçe ders kitaplarında yer alan metinler ve ölçme değerlendirme çalışmaları, PISA değerlendirme sisteminde yer alan okuma becerisi ölçütlerine uygunluk bakımından incelenmiştir. Betimsel araştırma yöntemlerinden belgesel tarama ve içerik çözümlemesi teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, ders kitapları ve öğrenci çalışma kitaplarının, üst düzey düşünme gerektiren okuma becerilerini geliştirmede yet . . .ersiz olduğu saptanmıştır. Okuma amacına ve okuma şekillerine gore metin türlerinin ders kitapları ve öğrenci çalışma kitaplarında yeterli sayıda olmadığı ve ölçme değerlendirme çalışmalarının da sözü edilen ölçütleri kapsamadığı bulunmuştur. Ayrıca ders kitaplarında yer alan ölçme-değerlendirme sorularının yoğunlukla alt okuma beceri düzeyine ilişkin olduğu belirlenmiştir As reading skills gained in Turkish courses is a factor which affects their success in other school subjects, reading materials used in Turkish should be reconstructed considering the international reading criteria. In this study, reading texts and exercises in the middle school Turkish textbooks were analyzed. The results were analyzed using descriptive research methods including document and content analaysis techniques. The results revealed that course books and student workbooks were unlikely to contribute to the improvement of students’ high level reading skills. The study also revealed that course books did not include enough number of reading texts that require different reading styles with different purposes. Bu çalışma, cinsiyet farkının İngilizce öğrenenenlerin anadili İngilizce olan kişiler ile konuşurken kullandığı iletişim stratejilerine etkisini araştırmaktadır. 10 Türk öğrenci 10 anadili İngilizce olan kişiler ile eşleştirilmiş ve 10 dakikalık konuşmalar yapmışlardır. Veri toplama teknikleri olarak özgeçmiş anketi, gözlem, deney sonrası anket ve görüşmeler kullanılmıştır. Veri analizinde ise Faerch ve Kasper'ın (1983) geliştirdiği iletişim stratejileri kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre konuşulan kişinin cinsiyeti Türk öğrencilerinin kullandığı iletişim stratejilerini etkilemiştir. Ten Turkish EFL students were paired with 10 native speakers of English, producing a total of 20 (10-minute long) conversations. Data collection procedures consisted of a background questionnaire, observation, a post-session questionnaire and an interview. A modified version of Faerch and Kasper's (1983) framework of communication strategies was used in data analysis to identify communication strategies employed by Turkish EFL students when conversing with native speakers of English. The findings revealed that the gender of the native speaker of English, rather than the gender of the students had an important impact on the Turkish EFL students' communication strategy use. Bu çalışmanın amacı, dinamik geometri yazılımlarının 10. sınıf öğrencilerinin geometrik düşünme, geometri başarısı ve ispat yapma becerisi üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Bu makalede, bu amaçla gerçekleştirilen yarı deneysel pilot çalışmadan elde edilen bulgular tartışılacaktır. Çalışmaya, İstanbul ilindeki altı liseden 227 öğrenci katılmış ancak 49 öğrencinin verileri analiz edilmiştir. Öğrencilere geometrik düşünme, problem çözme ve ispat becerilerini ölçmeye yönelik üç farklı test uygulanmış, çalışma boyunca deney grubundaki öğrencilerle dinamik geometri yazılımının kullandığı beş etkinlik yapılmıştır. Son testlerde gruplar a . . .rasında anlamlı bir fark bulunmamış ancak deney grubunda üç testin ortalamalarında anlamlı artışlar olduğu görülmüştür. Bununla beraber, öğrencilerin testler bazında ortalamalarının genel olarak düşük olduğu, temel geometrik kavramları tanımlayamadıkları, kavramlar arasındaki ilişkileri kuramadıkları, kavram bilgisini farklı durumlarda uygulayamadıkları ve ispat becerilerinin düşük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. The aim of this paper is to present the findings of a pilot study which was designed to investigate the effects of using dynamic geometry software on the tenth grade students’ geometric thinking, problem solving and proof skills. It was a quasi-experimental study consisted of 49 students from six different high schools around Istanbul. In the treatment groups, the students engaged with five dynamic geometry activities in the geometry lessons throughout the semester. Although no significant differences between the groups were observed, in the treatment groups, the students’ mean scores for each type of test increased significantly. The students’ answers for each item in the tests were also analyzed. Bu çalışmanın amacı AÖL (Anadolu Öğretmen Liseleri) inde uygulanan İngilizce eğitim programları hakkında bu okullardaki öğrenci ve öğretmenlerinin görüşlerine, İngilizce diline ait algıların ve İngilizce öğretmenliğine yönelik düşüncelerine ait veriler elde etmektir. Anadolu öğretmen liselerinde öğrenim görmekte olan 3168 öğrenciden araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen anket yoluyla 38 öğretmenden ise yüz yüze görüşmeyle veri toplanmıştır. The aim of this study is to report on the Anatolian Teacher High School EFL learners’ perceptions of the English language curriculum and their attitudes towards English language teaching. 3618 students studying at Anatolian Teacher High Schools and 38 English teachers participated in the study.
