Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin meraklılık düzeylerini belirlemek ve bunun cinsiyet, fakülte, üniversiteye girişteki puan türü, gelir düzeyi ve başarı algılarına göre değişip değişmediğini ortaya koymaktır. Tarama modelinin kullanıldığı çalışmada Erwin (1998) tarafından geliştirilen ve genişlik ve derinlik olmak üzere iki alt boyuttan oluşan “Meraklılık Ölçeği”nin Türkçe?ye uyarlama çalışması yapılmıştır. İç tutarlılığın göstergesi olarak elde edilen Cronbach alfa değeri .86 olarak bulunmuştur. Ölçeğin yapı geçerliğinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılan faktör analizi sonucunda uyarlama çalışması yapılan ölçekteki madde . . .lerin, orijinal ölçekte olduğu gibi iki alt boyutta toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular, üniversite öğrencilerinin (n:620) meraklılık düzeylerinin, ölçekten elde edilen ortalama puanın, ölçek orta puanının üstünde olması nedeniyle yüksek düzeyde olduğunu ortaya koymuştur. Ölçeğin genişlik boyutuna ilişkin puan ortalaması, derinlik boyutuna ilişkin puan ortalamasından daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Ayrıca öğrencilerin meraklılık düzeylerinin cinsiyet, öğrenim görülen fakülte ve üniversiteye girişteki puan türü açısından farklılık gösterdiği, gelir düzeyi ve başarı algısı açısından ise farklılık göstermediği belirlenmiştir. This research aims at determining university students‟ levels of curiosity and specifying whether or not that varied on the basis of gender, faculty, the type of scores needed to enter university, income level, and achievement perception. In this study, which employs a survey method, “Curiosity Index” composed of two subdimensions, namely breadth and depth, developed by Erwin (1998) was adapted into Turkish. Cronbach alpha value which was found as the indicator of internal consistency was calculated as 0.86. Following the factor analysis conducted in order to determine the construct validity of the scale, it was found that the items of the adapted scale contained two sub-dimensions, as in the original scale. The findings obtained revealed that the students‟ (n:620) level of curiosity was high due to the fact that the average scores received from the scale were above the median of the scale. Besides, the average scores of the breadth dimension of the scale were found to be higher than those of the depth dimension. Bu çalışmanın amacı öğrencilerin öğretmenlerinin güdüsel desteğine ilişkin algılarını belirlemek amacıyla kullanılabilecek bir ölçme aracı geliştirmektir. Bu amaçla biri ölçek geliştirme biri uyarlama olmak üzere iki ayrı çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmalara toplam 418 lise öğrencisi ve 215 ortaokul öğrencisi katılmıştır. Analizler sırasında açımlayıcı ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizine başvurulmuş, madde ayırt edicilikleri hesaplanmış, Cronbach Alpha güvenirlik sayısı hesaplanmıştır. Çalışmalar sonunda kişisel ilişki desteği, özerklik desteği ve yetkinlik desteği alt boyutlarından oluşan ölçeğin 24 maddeden oluştuğu belirlenmişti . . .r. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda üç boyutlu modelin hem lise hem de ortaokul öğrencileri için uygun olduğu belirlenmiştir. The purpose of the study is to develop a scale in order to determine the students perceptions on their teachers motivational support. For this purpose two pilot studies, one of which is to develop and the other is to adapt, were realized. 418 high school and 215 middle school students participated in the validity and reliability studies. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was used. Item discriminations were tested and determined, the reliability of scale Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient were calculated. In the end the scale composed of 24 items and four factors that are named as competence support, autonomy support and relatedness support is identified. The purpose of this study was to investigate the possible effects of personal variables and perceived selfefficacy in eliciting social support on the three successive burnout dimensions; emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and reduced personal accomplishment (RPA) in Turkish EFL teachers. 63 Turkish EFL teachers working at a Preparatory School of an English-medium Turkish university in Istanbul participated in the study. Data came from an adapted version of Maslach Burnout Inventory-Education Survey developed by Friedman (1999a) to measure teacher burnout, and two subscales, the Perceived Self- Efficacy in Eliciting So . . .cial Support from Colleagues (PSESSC) and the Perceived Self-Efficacy in Eliciting Social Support from Principals (PSESSP) developed by Friedman and Kass (2002) to assess teachers’ perceived self-efficacy beliefs in eliciting support from their principals and colleagues. The findings of the study revealed that, there was a significant correlation among burnout, personal variables and perceived selfefficacy beliefs in eliciting social support both from principals and colleagues.
