Women’s confinement and struggle against the patriarchal family structure: a feminist analysis of selected women’s writing in the light of Kate Millett’s concept of sexual politics

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the main female characters in two short stories and a novel written in three different periods, using the conceptual analysis framework that Kate Millett puts forward in her 1970 work Sexual Politics. The aim of the present study is to explore the emancipatory potential of revisionist mythmaking strategies employed in two contemporary novels, Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad (2005) and Latife Tekin’s Muinar (2006), through dialogic, intertextual, and deconstructive relations. Regardless of the cultural differences, the 19th century Victorian England and Tanzimat Period in Ottoman Empire had similar expectations from women. The two novelists from these two countries, Thomas Hardy and Ahmet Mithat Efendi, had critical attitude towards such expectations. The present study compared selected works of H.P. Lovecraft and China Miéville in terms of the representations of monster figures by creating a theoretical framework using Lovecraft’s “Five Definitive Elements of Weird Literature”. Orta Çağ’ın başında, V. ve VIII. yüzyıllar arasında Soğdluların doğuya doğru olan göçü, Orta Asya kara kütlesinde gerçekleşen kültürel etkileşimlerin tarihinde önemli bir unsurdur. Yedisu, Otrar ve diğer birçok yerleşim yerinde ve özellikle Tang’ın başkenti Chang, Luoyang ve Dunhuang kentlerinde Soğd nüfusu iki katına çıkmıştı. 6102 sayılı Türk Ticaret Kanunu’nun m. 636/III hükmü ile limited şirketlerde haklı sebeplerin varlığı halinde, her bir ortağın mahkemeden ortaklığın feshine karar verilmesini isteyebileceği düzenlenmiştir. Düzenlemenin devamında ise, mahkemenin şirketin feshine karar vermek yerine, davacı ortağa payının gerçek değerinin ödenmesi ve davacının ortaklıktan çıkarılmasına veya duruma uygun düşen ve kabul edilebilir diğer bir çözüme hükmedilebileceği belirtilmiştir.
