The Quest of Women and revisionist mythmaking in muinar and the penelopiad: just voices or “just” voices?

The aim of the present study is to explore the emancipatory potential of revisionist mythmaking strategies employed in two contemporary novels, Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad (2005) and Latife Tekin’s Muinar (2006), through dialogic, intertextual, and deconstructive relations. Offering a comparative account by means of a three-fold theoretical basis between the two novels, this dissertation explores women’s paths to seek justice. The definition of ideological cleavage in Turkish political life through the concepts of right and left began with the orientation of the Republican People's Party to the Left of Center in the 1960s. Collective memory and journalism in the context of femicide

This study examines the news production processes about femicide, a universal problem, in the Turkish press within the context of collective memory. The relationship between memory and the news media is explained by associating it with Alison Landsberg's (2004) concept of prosthetic memory. Shamanism or shamanism, a comparative approach toward siberian Shamanism

Shamanism has been considered as a singular phenomenon in most of the studies carried out about Shamanism so far, and it has not been taken into consideration that there are different types of Shamanism. Shamanist beliefs, which were developed in a very large region such as Siberia, were divided into different branches as a result of different social, cultural and political effects in Siberia, and led to the emergence of Shamanist practices called Paleo-Siberian Shamanism and Neo-Siberian Shamanism.

Elviye-i Selâse (“Triple Cities”) is the region consisting of Batumi, Ardahan and Kars sanjaks during the Ottoman Period. The fact that the region was taken from the Ottoman Empire after the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878) was a major disadvantage for the Turkish people living in this region.
