In the aftermath of the Second World War, Türkiye underwent significant social and political transformations as it transitioned to a multi-party system. In 1946, Celal Bayar, Adnan Menderes, Fuad Köprülü, and Refik Koraltan, having broken away from the Republican People’s Party, founded the Democrat Party. The aim of the present study is to explore the emancipatory potential of revisionist mythmaking strategies employed in two contemporary novels, Margaret Atwood’s The Penelopiad (2005) and Latife Tekin’s Muinar (2006), through dialogic, intertextual, and deconstructive relations.
