Large-scale forecasting of large fluctuations using wavelet coherence and multifractal behavior and developing wavelet coherence for multiple time series

Shocks, jumps, booms, and busts are typical large fluctuation markers that appear in crisis. Identifying financial crises and estimating leading indicators with strong relations during crisis periods have an essential role in the literature. This thesis examines the dynamic co-movements of leading indicators' multifractal features to identify financial crises due to large fluctuations. The detected dynamic relationships predict leading indicators with scale-by-scale analysis and make large-scale predictions better than challenger models. Comparison of monstrous figures in the works of H.P Lovecraft and China Miéville through Lovecraft’s five definitive elements

The present study compared selected works of H.P. Lovecraft and China Miéville in terms of the representations of monster figures by creating a theoretical framework using Lovecraft’s “Five Definitive Elements of Weird Literature”. A comparative foundation was first laid down by examining the etymology of the word monster throughout history, as well as touching upon Saussure's theories of language. The present dissertation aims to analyse Victorian society and its reflection in the 19th-century novels such as Hard Times and Oliver Twist within the feminist framework. The aim of this thesis is to propose a hypothetical community for queer people of 20th century England depicted in two novels: Radclyffe Hall’s The Well of Loneliness (1928) and Jeanette Winterson’s Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit (1985) through Agamben’s idea of community. Political cycles and transitional justice: Evidence from Uruguay and Chile

This study concentrates on how countries deal with the mass human rights violations, large-scale massacres, and social abuses experienced during authoritarian rule. A comparative research is conducted, focusing on the differences and similarities between societies governed by bureaucratic authoritarian systems.
