Görsel sanatlar ve edebiyat arasındaki ilişki Antik çağlardan bu yana tartışılan, üzerinde çalışmalar yapılan bir konudur. Görsel sanat yapıtlarının dilsel temsili olarak özetlenen Ekfrasis, sessiz nesnelere ses verme, gerçekte olmayan nesneleri, sahneleri göz önünde canlandırma, okuyucuya anı yaşıyormuş gibi hissettirme gibi birçok farklı anlamlar kullanılmıştır. Elviye-i Selâse (“Triple Cities”) is the region consisting of Batumi, Ardahan and Kars sanjaks during the Ottoman Period. The fact that the region was taken from the Ottoman Empire after the Russo-Turkish War (1877–1878) was a major disadvantage for the Turkish people living in this region.
