Job burnout profoundly impacts both employee well-being and organizational effectiveness. This study explores the dynamic interplay among job-related basic need satisfaction, job burnout, Fear of Missing Out (FoMO), and Perceived Supervisor Support. This thesis aims to explore two contemporary novels, Elif Shafak’s The Island of Missing Trees and Christy Lefteri’s Songbirds by using Mikhail Bakhtin’s theoretical framework on language and the novel.
